Summary
The DCS optical losses may be profitably discussed in terms of a four-factor formula: the optical efficiency is taken as the product of reflectance, intercept factor, transmittance, and absorptance. This paper reports on the results of measurements or estimates of these factors, and discusses the implications for operation and washing frequency.
