Abstract

The 500-kWe DCS plant consists of two types of line focus parabolic trough collectors, organized in three separate fields. Thermal energy is collected by the parabolic troughs using a high-temperature oil which is pumped to the top of the storage tanks, from which it can be pumped to a steam generator to produce steam for the DCS steam turbine. Low- temperature oil is returned from the steam generator to the bottom of a main storage vessel where it can then be pumped back to the collector field.
