Summary
A time-domain mathematical model is presented for a heaving buoy containing an oscillating water column. The model is prepared for numerical computation of the heave motion of the buoy and its power production. The hydrodynamical parameters of the device are converted from an approximation of rigid-body model parameters to applied-pressure model quantities, and they are expressed as kernel functions of convolution integrals. The non-causality of the kernel functions representing excitation quantities is discussed.
