The thermal stability condition of lens resonator against thermal disturbance, 2G1G2 = 1- G2/G1 (l2/l1)2-2G2(l2-l1), derived by J. Steffen et al is a necessary but not a sufficient one. The necessary and sufficient condition is given in the paper.
