Abstract
Reflection spectra of heavily iodine-doped polyacetylene show a reflectivity edge in the near infrared (≈ 1 μm) if the samples are compacted [1]. We interpret this edge as a plasma edge arising from the metallic parts of the samples created by the doping process.
