Work Function Dependence of the Li(2p) Excitation in Slow Collisions of Ground State Li Atoms with Tungsten Surfaces
Considerable progress has been made in the theoretical understanding of charge exchange processes which atoms scattered from surfaces may undergo . Theoretical efforts have concentrated primarily on describing the interaction of a ground state atom with substrates. The existence of excited states of the scattered atom is usually neglected in such treatments.
