Abstract
Under nearly fieldfree conditions angular resolved measurements of electron induced ion desorption were carried out on the systems CO on Ni(110) and Ru(001). The influences of the surface temperature, coverage, primary energy and azimuth on the polar angular distributions of the desorption yield were observed in detail. Off-normal lobes from the saturated layer on Ni indicate a tilted molecular bond. The various contributions to the widths are discussed.
