Part of the book series: Recent Results in Cancer Research ((RECENTCANCER,volume 99))

Abstract

The production of calcitonin by small cell carcinoma is an important aspect of the ectopic production of peptides by tumoral tissue. Interestingly, small cell carcinoma of the lung can also produce other hormones, such as ACTH or ADH, and enzymes, such as histaminase; and this list is substantially extended elsewhere in this volume.
