Abstract

We now discuss the improvements of the HF-RPA theory, taking into account the effect of the exchange-enhanced spin density fluctuations on the free energy of the thermal equilibrium state. Such a renormalization effect is conveniently treated by starting with a formally exact expression for the free energy of an interacting electron system, given in terms of the dynamical susceptibilities through the coupling constant integral (Sect. 4.1).
