Zusammenfassung
Der elektrische Widerstand wird mit R bezeichnet und in Ω (Ohm) gemessen, der spezifische elektrische Widerstand ρ wird in Ωm angegeben. Der Kehrwert des Widerstandes ist die elektrische Leitfähigkeit (Ω-1), die spezifische elektrische Leitfähigkeit σ= 1/ρ hat die Einheit (Ωm)-1 = S/m. Der Widerstand eines elektrischen Leiters der Länge 1 und der Fläche A berechnet sich nach der Formel R = ρ1/A. Gebräuchliche Einheiten für den spezifischen Widerstand sind auch: 1 μΩcm = 10-8 Ωm sowie 1 Ωmm2/m = 1 μΩm = 100 μΩm und vor allem 1 Ωcm = 10-2 Ωm Hieraus folgt für die spezifische elektrische Leitfähigkeit σ = 1Ω-1cm−1 = 100Ω−1m−1 usw.
