Abstract
This chapter presents some example simulations of multiphase flow using the computer model described in detail in Chapter III. Section 4.1 contains a series of oil contamination scenarios. Convergence of the solutions in space and time is explored, as is convergence of the iteration scheme. Mass balance calculations for the computer runs are also examined. Section 4.2 focuses on the movement of trichloroethylene (TCE) in a porous medium. Properties of TCE are introduced along with a detailed discussion of their theoretical and experimental basis. Simulations of TCE infiltration into a water saturated column are then presented.
