Abstract

This paper presents some theoretical results on the electronic properties of semiconductor quantum wells. They include the influence of band nonparabolicity on the discrete and continuous energy spectra; the evaluation of the quantum well-projected density of states and a discussion of the binding energies of delocalized (moving) excitons. Exciton trapping on interface defects is briefly outlined.
