Zusammenfassung
Die Bedeutung der Veränderungen des cellulären Immunsystems für die Entwicklung einer Sepsis nach schwerem Trauma ist bekannt. Eine Vermehrung von T-Suppressor-Lymphocyten und ein Anstieg des inhibitorischen Monocytenproduktes Prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) wurde nach schweren Traumen nachgewiesen und als Mitursache der verminderten Antikörperbildung und Immunabwehr angesehen (1, 2). Aus diesen Erkenntnissen können sich therapeutische Ansatzpunkte ergeben. So ist es denkbar, durch irreversible Blockade der Prostaglandinsynthese mit Indomethacin, die durch inhibitorische Monocyten vermittelte Immunsuppression zu vermindern, oder durch Modulation der T-Lymphocyten-Differenzierung und -Funktion mit Thymopentin (TP5), die durch T-Suppressor-Zellen verursachte Immunabwehrschwäche zu verhindern (3).
