Abstract

The objective of this section is to describe anatomic features of particular relevance to the natural history of carcinoma of the lung and to its clinical management. A strict criterion of relevance makes this review highly selective. Readers who wish a comprehensive treatment of thoracic anatomy as such or as a guide to technical aspects of surgical resection or radiation therapy are referred elsewhere.
