Zusammenfassung

Das verruköse Karzinom wurde 1948 von Ackerman [1] als Epithelioma spinocellulare niedrigen Malignitätsgrades beschrieben — es wird daher auch häufig „Ackermankarzinom“ genannt. Damit konnten die seit langem bekannten Tumoren an der Mundschleimhaut („floride orale Papillomatose“) und die von Buschke und Löwenstein beschriebene Riesenkondylome des Penis ebenfalls diesem Krankheitsbild beigeordnet werden. Aird [2] veröffentlichte 1954 drei Fälle (Tabellen 1 und 2) eines Tumors der Fußsohle, der wegen seiner klinisch und histologisch einem Kaninchenbau vergleichbaren Struktur als Epithelioma cuniculatum (E. c.) bezeichnet wurde. Brownstein u. Shapiro [5] haben das Verdienst 1976 die Zugehörigkeit des E. c. zum verrukösen Karzinom erkannt zu haben. Seither haben eine Reihe von Publikationen zur genaueren Kenntnis dieses Tumors wesentlich beitragen, und seine Erkennung sollte keine Schwierigkeit bereiten.
