Abstract
The absorption and emission of the light by an impurity centre are accompanied by the creation of phonons, which, in turn, can drastically change the optical response of the centre. In recent years, various phenomena of such kinds have been studied by using the impurity luminescence spectra for the detection of nonequilibrium phonons [1–3]. In the present work another kind of detection based on the changes after a laser excitation of impurity absorption spectra, as well as the peculiarities of phonon propagation in KCl-NO −2 are reported.
