Percolation Effects and Disorder

Magnetic Phase Transitions

Part of the book series: Springer Series in Solid-State Sciences ((SSSOL,volume 48))

Abstract

The main object of these lectures concerns the effect of quenched disorder in ferromagnetic transitions. Much emphasis will be given to the structure of the incipient infinite cluster. Hopefully this will clarify some controversial aspects of dilute ferromagnets near the percolation threshold. The last lecture will consider the “thermal” disorder in a pure ferromagnetic system with a droplet model approach.
