Abstract

The subject of laser-stimulated desorption (LSD) has recently attracted considerable attention both experimentally and theoretically. Much of this attention comes from the prospects of possible applications of laser-stimulated catalytic processes at various solid surfaces. Should such processes (for example selective cleaning of the surface) require low power and be selective they would be enormously important technologically, particularly in microelectronics.
