Zusammenfassung

Die Körpergewebe benötigen für die Aufrechterhaltung der vitalen Funktionen ein Transportsystem, welches die Versorgung mit essentiellen Substraten (z.B. Sauerstoff, Glukose) ebenso wie den Abtransport von „Endprodukten“ (z.B. CO2, NH3) regelt. Da die meisten Gewebe ständig wechselnden Belastungen ausgesetzt sind, müssen anatomische und funktionelle Gegebenheiten des Transportsystems eine große Adaptationsbreite ermöglichen. Dabei ist das Blut als flüssiges Transportmittel anzusehen, dessen korpuskuläre Anteile beim Menschen ein besonders spezialisiertes System darstellen.
