Abstract
For each of the tasks arising in an office, such as speaking, listening, writing, dictating, reading and filing, we currently employ a separate device: the telephone, the typewriter or the word processor, the dictation machine, the terminal, the data input device and the file. For separate activities we have separate devices and communication networks, in which the exchange of information is carried out in the separate forms of speech, data, text, static and live pictures.
