Ultrastructural Changes in the Dog Liver Cell After Isolated Liver Perfusion with Various Cytotoxins

  • Chapter
Vascular Perfusion in Cancer Therapy

Part of the book series: Recent Results in Cancer Research ((RECENTCANCER,volume 86))

Abstract

Before isolated liver perfusion could be done in patients suffering from tumors, detailed information on the reaction of the intact liver tissue to different cytotoxins had to be obtained in experimental animals, using the perfusion method elsewhere elaborated (Aigner et al. to be published).

A portion of this work was performed by H.-J. Helling (5-FU, MTX, dacarbazine) and by M. Krahl (cis-PT) in partial fulfilment of the degree of Dr. med., Justus Liebig-University, Giessen

The authors are greatly indebted to Dr. Syed Ali, Department of Anatomy and Cytobiology, Justus Liebig-University, Giessen, for valuable technical advice and for stimulating discussions. The efficient technical contributions of Mrs. I. Stei are also gratefully acknowledged
