Abstract

The following enzymatic deficiencies of steroidogenesis have been described:

  • *21-hydroxylase:

    1. (a)

      simple virilizing

    2. (b)

      salt-wasting

  • *11β-hydroxylase

  • *3β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase (3β-HSD)

  • *17α-hydroxylase

  • *cholesterol desmolase

  • 18-hydroxylase (corticosterone methyl oxidase, type I)

  • 18-dehydrogenase of 18-hydroxycorticosterone (corticosterone methyl oxidase, type II)

  • 17β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase (17β-HSD)

  • 17,20-lyase
