Part of the book series: Handbook of Experimental Pharmacology ((HEP,volume 67 / 1))

Abstract

Analytical procedures for β-lactam antibiotics were described in great detail in the early 1970 s in the monograph Cephalosporins and Penicillins, Chemistry and Biology by Flynn (1972). These procedures included microbiological, chemical, chromatographic, and physical-chemical determinations of this important group of biologically active substances in pharmaceutical preparations, body fluids, and formulations subjected to long-term stability studies.
