Zusammenfassung
Unter allen bösartigen Erkrankungen ist das Mammakarzinom unübertroffen, was den Umfang der Literatur über seine Chemotherapie angeht. Das spiegelt die Größenordnung wieder, welche das Mammakarzinom einnimmt — es soll so häufig sein wie der Diabetes mellitus; 70–80% der Patienten bedürfen im Verlauf der Erkrankung der Chemotherapie -, aber auch eine anhaltende therapeutische Unsicherheit. Die Beantwortung der Fragen,
bei welcher Patientin
wann
welches Medikament
in welcher Dosierung
in welcher Kombination
und über welchen Zeitraum zu verabreichen ist,
bereitet auch dem Spezialisten immer wieder Probleme und gibt unter diesen Anlaß zu andauernden Kontroversen. Insofern darf es nicht verwundern, wenn bei der Besprechung des gestellten, anspruchsvollen Themas „Möglichkeiten und Grenzen der Chemotherapie des metastasierten Mammakarzinoms“ persönliche Erfahrungen einen breiten Raum einnehmen werden.
