Excretion of Polyamines by Children with Leukemia During Chemotherapy

  • Chapter
Modified Nucleosides and Cancer

Abstract

During the past 10 years polyamines and modified nucleosides have both been suggested as useful tumor markers. Since the polyamine-synthetic pathway and nucleic acid methylation share the common cosubstrate S-adenosylmethionine, it is likely that the two metabolic routes have common regulatory features.

Work was supported by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft SFB 118 and the W. Sander Stiftung. The authors thank Mrs. L. Mutschler, Mrs. Stockhausen, and Mrs. U. Christel for their excellent technical assistance
