Abstract

Forty-nine of 149 patients agreed to be interviewed 6–12 months following outpatient abortion. Most important subjects of the examination were: Motivation for the abortion; present reevaluation of the decision; social environment; memories of the operation procedure, especially affects directed towards the hospital staff; mechanisms of defence or working up the past unpleasant impressions.
