Implications of Information and Information Processing by the Recipient in Preparation for Childbirth

Conference paper

There is ample evidence that it is important to inform forthcoming parents about:
  1. 1.

The different aspects of the whole process of pregnancy and childbirth

  2. 2.

Coping strategies for pregnancy related problems and labour

So far little attention has been paid to how information can be made more efficient and coping strategies more generalizable to problems in other areas, thereby enhancing the psychohygienic component of preparation courses. To achieve this, we have to con?sider that more is relevant only as the above-mentioned objective contents of a prepa?ration program.
