Abstract

New detailed calculations of the electronic structure of the Chevrel phases Mo6S8, Mo6Se8, Mo6Te8, PbMo6S8, PbMo6Se8, BaMo6S8, EuMo6S8 and GdMo6S8 and of the pseudo-one-dimensional compounds of type TlMo3Se3 are presented. The results are discussed in terms of simple models and are related to observed structural and physical properties.
