Zusammenfassung

Schon kurz nach der Entdeckung des Adrenalins durch Oliver u. Schaf er im Jahre 1895 [52] publizierte Schafer [57] eine Reihe von Indikationen zu dessen klinischer Anwendung, die noch heute nicht nur ihre volle Gültigkeit hat, sondern auch kaum erweitert wurde. Sie enthält bereits sämtliche Indikationen für den Bereich der Anästhesie und der postoperativen Intensivmedizin. So empfahl Schafer [57] Adrenalin zur lokalen Anwendung als Hämostyptikum besonders bei Schleimhautblutungen, als Vasokonstriktor zur Absorptionsverzögerung und Wirkungsverlängerung von Lokalanästhetika, als Bronchodilatator und als Kreislaufstimulans sowie bei Kreislaufkollaps sowie bei kardialer Insuffizienz.
