Interaction Effects in Two-Dimensional Disordered Systems

Abstract

Interaction effects in the weakly localized regime in two-dimension are reviewed. Especially the magnetoresistance due to orbital motions combined with interactions is examined in detail and the theoretical results are shown to explain very nicely experiments in MOS and very metallic Cu films. In the case of MOS it is seen that the intervalley impurity scattering plays essential roles. It is also pointed out that experiments in some metallic films can be qualitatively understood if strong spin-orbit interactions are taken into account.
