Abstract
Electronic semiconductors are crystals and amorphous solids whose electrical conductivity is intermediate between metals (a= 104-105 Ω-1 cm-1) and insulators (σ = 10-10-10-20 Ω-1 cm-1). In distinction to the ionic conductors, the conduction in metals and semiconductors is effected by the drift of electrons and holes.
