Abstract

In this chapter we shall take up the “square engineering problem” posed at the end of Chapter 3. Namely, how to build a “well-behaving” machine in an economic way. Our first concern will be how to save “blueprint” in the description of this machine. In Chapter 7 we shall finally arrive at the question: of how many building blocks (i.e., neurons) are needed for such a machine.
