Abstract

The effective masses for graphite intercalation compounds are discussed in terms of measurement techniques and the relations between masses and the electronic structure. Typical results obtained by the Shubnikov-de Haas and magnetoreflection techniques are presented. The small masses that are observed can be explained on the basis of dispersion relations derived from the graphite π-bands.
