Brucellosis

Abstract

This geomedical investigation has shown that brucellosis occurs in 94 of the 153 countries in the world, and that the remaining countries have either already been successful in eradicating it or do not know about or report on its occurrence. In every case man functions as a “subsidiary host” in the epidemiology of this infectious disease, and is totally dependent in his risk of infection on the occurrence and distribution of the different brucella species in the animal host reservoirs.
