Response of a Turbulent Boundary Layer to a Pulsation of the External Flow With and Without Adverse Pressure Gradient

  • Conference paper
Unsteady Turbulent Shear Flows

Summary

The development of an oscillating turbulent boundary layer along a flat plate is studied here. Systematic measurements are carried out for Strouhal number from 1.5 to 18. The harmonic analysis of the main parameters is presented, and compared with the calculation results obtained from the integration of the global or local boundary layer equations. The occurrence of singularities in boundary layer equations solved with an imposed adverse pressure distribution,is discussed.
