Zusammenfassung
Das Auftreten von Schilddrüsenkrebs ist als seltene Spätfolge von Röntgenbestrahlungen der Kopf-und Halsgegend im Kindes- und Jugendlichenalter beschrieben worden. Die Mehrzahl der Patienten wurden vor 15 bis 20 Jahren wegen Sinusitis, Thymushypertrophie und Tonsillenhypertrophie bestrahlt. In einigen Fällen wurde jedoch auch ein ursächlicher Zusammenhang mit Röntgenbestrahlungen für Tinea capitis, Acne vulgaris und andere dermatologische Indikationen vermutet.
