Zusammenfassung
Das Pigmentsystem des Menschen leitet sich vom Neuroektoderm ab. Die Vorläufer der Pigmentzellen wandern während des frühen Embryonallebens von der Neuralleiste aus und erreichen im allgemeinen Ende des 3. Embryonalmonats ihren Bestimmungsort. Dabei gelangen Pigmentzellen nicht nur in die Haut, sondern auch in die Hüllen des Auges und die Schleimhäute. In geringerer Zahl lassen sich auch Pigmentzellen in den weichen Hirnhäuten, im Innenohr, dem Mesenterium und in den Organen des chromaffinen Systems nachweisen (Menon u. Habermann 1977; Fitzpatrick et al. 1979).
