Abstract
This chapter is intended to provide an introduction to the field of magnetic bubbles in such a way that the following two purposes are accomplished:

Provide the reader with an overall view of the field before getting into the details of the various parts.

Provide a framework for the parts to clarify the scope and organization of the rest of the book.
