Electronic Instabilities in Quasi-One-Dimensional Conductors: Insulator or Superconductor?

Abstract

A strictly one-dimensional metal shows instabilities at low temperatures. Depending on the type of interaction between the electrons these may be either of the (spin or charge) density wave type or superconducting [1].
