Abstract
In December 1977 a joint clinical trial for patients with gastric adenocarcinoma was initiated by investigators in the United States and Japan. This cooperative protocol was the first joint clinical effort sponsored by the United States-Japan Scientific Agreement for Cancer Research, as part of the National Cancer Institute.
