Zusammenfassung

Die Kryokaustik stellt eine Weiterentwicklung der konventionellen Kältechirurgie des Prostataadenoms beim Risikopatienten dar. Es handelt sich um ein palliatives Operationsverfahren, bei dem im Anschluß an extreme Kälteeinwirkung das Gewebe der Pars prostatica kurzfristig hoch erhitzt wird. Der Eingriff wird ohne Anästhesie bei leichter Sedierung des Patienten durchgeführt. Zur Kälteerzeugung dient flüssiger Stickstoff, der in einem Wärmeaustauscher an der Spitze der teflonbeschichteten Kryokaustikson-de versprüht wird. Ein eingebautes Heizelement ermöglicht eine stufenlose Erhitzung der Kühlkammer auf 200°.
