Zusammenfassung

Nach histologischen Befunden bei der chronischen, bakteriellen Prostatitis ist davon auszugehen, daß die entzündliche Reaktion sowohl im Stroma als auch im Acinuslumen selbst stattfindet, wo sie letztlich auch persistiert [1]. Von intrakanalikulären foci ausgehend, entstehen erneute Exazerbationen der Prostatitis, gegebenenfalls mit Befall der Nachbardrüsen oder auch der hinteren prostatischen Harnröhre. Bei der Behandlung der chronischen Prostatitis müssen diese pathologischen und zusätzlich speziellen pharmakokinetischen Gegebenheiten berücksichtigt werden (Abb. 1).
