Summary
Starting from the state of science and technology, summarized in seven essential sentences, the general goals of this project are described: Prototype development of a possibly very advanced industrial robot, fit for the production of small series and for assembly work, noticing the possibilities to preserve and to improve working places.
Therefore the robot shall have coordinated arms with a high number of motion coordinates, combined with a high capability of visual and tactile sensing and with a fast nonlinear computer control. A modular structure of the whole system shall support reliability and security by functional redundancy with fault checking. Optical sensors, especially TV-cameras, and displays with light pens, shall open ways to the nonabstract teach-in and the consideration of obstacles.
For this the special goals and the dispositions of the individual solutions are given.
