Summary

The object of this paper is to suggest how a method for profitable allocation of resources in a breeding program may be worked out for a crop with several variables. The efficiency of a certain combination of varieties evaluated in a number of replications in a number of places and/or years may be expressed as a linear function of the expected genetical gain of the different variables for that combination.
