On Discrimination Between Various Mechanisms of Orientational Relaxation in Liquids

Abstract

The correction to the Hubbard relation between the orientational and rotational relaxation times in liquids has been found in the impact approximation. This correction depends on how effectively collisions change the molecular angular moment and, in principle, allows the situations of strong and weak collisions to be discriminated experimentally.
