NMR, EPR Spectra and Thermostimulated Depolarisation Currents in Baltic Amber
In the different kinds of Baltic amber NMR, EPR Spectra and thermostimulated depolarisation currents were investigated. It was shown that natural amber is thermoelectret. The impurities make the insulator properties of amber worse. EPR Spectrum of amber consist of two lines; wide (470 Oe) and narrow (17 Oe), that were connected with impurieties and oxygen.
NMR Spectrum consists of one line (17 Oe). The addition of oxygen amber (C10H16O4) influences on the wide line, it b;.comes wider. The large width of NMR line is the indicative of the high crystaline degree of amber. The growth of crystalline properties takes place on the surface of amber. The impurietes make the polarization in electric field and give EPR Spectrum.
