Zero-Field Splitting of the Ground State S Ion in Calcite Type Borates

Abstract

The EPR spectrum of Fe3+ in the trigonal crystals Me1−x Fex BO3 (Me=Ga, In, Sc, Lu) was investigated. The obtained dependences of the spin Hamiltonian constants vs crystals parameters for estimation the contributions of various mechanisms to the ground state splitting of Fe3+ and determination the interaction parameters of individual ion with crystalline field in FeBO3 are used.
