Abstract
Mössbauer spectra of polycrystalline beryllium have been investigated. Special care has been taken of the modification of the texture and the kinetics of formation and solution of the Fe containing phases upon different temperature treatments. The sign of the electric field gradient (EFG) on Fe nuclei has been determined.
