Zusammenfassung

Im Dezember 1966 habe ich in Mainz meine öffentliche Vorlesung im Rahmen der Habilitation gehalten. Mein Thema lautete: „Epidemiologische Ansätze zur Erforschung koronarer Herzerkrankungen“. Nach nunmehr 11 Jahren bietet es sich an, das damals Vorgetragene gewissermaßen fortzuschreiben. Ich werde daher das Thema: „Statistik und Epidemiologie“ nicht allgemein, sondern am Beispiel der methodischen Entwicklung des letzten Jahrzehnts auf dem Gebiet der Epidemiologie koronarer Herzerkrankungen abhandeln.
