  • Conference paper

Part of the book series: Telecommunications ((TELECOMMUNICATI,volume 2))

Abstract

After a brief recall of the Antiope Videotex service, its implementation either on broadcast or on telephone network is described. Its flexibility is pointed out and the structure of the decoder is briefly discussed. After giving the main features of digital facsimile, it is shown how the interworking of the two systems can be used to design an electronic mail receiver of very low cost. The necessity of common standardization of both Teletex and Videotex is then emphasized.
